Headstart is a vibrant and energetic practice specialising in psychological, speech pathology and occupational therapy services for children, adolescents and adults. Our primary areas of expertise lie in the area of autism and related disorders; both detection and intervention. We do however, attract clients with diverse presentations and we would encourage the successful applicant to pursue their area of interest or expertise. We currently have 13 psychologists, eight speech pathologists and three occupational therapists working in the practice, all of whom bring their own areas of expertise. Clinicians consult from any or all of the following locations: Wayville, Gawler and Black Forest.
The successful Clinical Psychologist will have at a minimum completed a Masters of Clinical Psychology or equivalent and will provide clinical services on a full-time employment basis. Supervision and professional development opportunities will be provided.
Although you will work autonomously there is opportunity for multidisciplinary professional development and supervision within Headstart as well as opportunity for case discussion. Some supervision of junior staff may be required. Regular PD sessions are held within Headstart.
All Psychologists are supported by reliable and efficient administration staff who take care of all bookings and payments. While there is an existing referral process, you will need to be energetic in securing a strong client base. We welcome an experienced Clinical Psychologist with sound communication skills who can commit to full-time employment. We offer an attractive salary which we will negotiate depending on level of expertise and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS, REGISTRATION, MEMBERSHIPS (essential criteria)
The minimum educational requirement is completion of a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) or equivalent and
Registration with AHPRA
Provider number with Medicare and registration with the private health insurance funds.
An up to date police clearance
Experience or education in the area of Autism Spectrum Disorders and behavioural management is desirable but not essential
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 FTE.
The salary is negotiable and will be based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. The number of clients you are required to see weekly will be capped allowing ample time for case notes and preparation to be completed within a 38 hour working week.
