A rare opportunity is presented for a Psychologist to join an enthusiastic and dedicated health care team at The Royal Adelaide Hospital. The CALHN Cancer Service has a number of multidisciplinary services including, but not limited to, palliative care, radiation oncology, medical oncology and haematology. As part of this service, you will conduct assessments, design and implement intervention programs, and provide counselling services to individuals with cancer and their families in order to achieve better health outcomes for patients.
A challenging role requiring an individual who can operate within a fast-paced multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, including psychometric and behavioural measures, and pre-bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell transplants, as well as design, implement and assist with clinical research projects as appropriate.
It is essential that you hold an appropriate degree (Masters Degree in Clinical or Health Psychology) or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA and registered with the PsyBA. Demonstrating a successful background with multidisciplinary teamwork, you will possess proven abilities in communication, liaison and teamwork, able to work with and interact with people from all walks of life. Your ability to apply specialist skills in assessing and resolving clinical problems will complement your considerable experience in psychology, assessment, treatment and treatment evaluation. Furthermore, you will bring to the table the ability to design, implement and evaluate psychological procedures and interventions including individual, group and family interventions, and consultancy services to hospital units and outside agencies.
