Psychologist:EMDR Practitioner wanted for Brunswick Private Practice 

Solana Psychology is a small but well-established private practice in Brunswick, Melbourne that provides psychological counselling for adults, adolescents, children and their families. They are looking for a motivated, energetic and flexible team player to join their collaborative, highly professional and relaxed team.

Solana Psychology have an exceptional brand and pleasant rooms for you to provide high quality, evidence-based interventions for clients where you will be able to further develop your skills and interests. Our referrals are diverse, requiring assessment and treatment for a range of mental health issues.

You will have a full registration with AHPRA, preferably with a clinical endorsement, excellent assessment and treatment skills and an ability to cover a broad range of clinical issues. You will be experienced as an EMDR clinician who works with trauma and be able to work well autonomously and as part of a team. 

 If you have skill and experience or a keen interest in anxiety, depression, grief and loss. Attachment, PTSD, trauma, complex trauma, dissociation, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) this maybe be an especially suitable role for you. Experience or desire to work with children, adolescents, families and couples is desirable but not necessary. 

We are looking for psychologists to take on 1-2 days per week, as a contractor, however the role will start at a half day per week and build up. Working days are to be negotiated. We welcome applications from experienced clinical psychologists, general psychologists, as well as motivated/passionate psychologists who are new to the field.

What do we need from you?

  • Must have Doctoral or Masters level qualifications in Psychology
  • Full registration as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist
  • Full membership with the Australian Psychological Society
  • Eligibility to provide services under Medicare;
  • An ABN;
  • Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance up to $10,000,000;
  • Level 2 training in EMDR and confidence working with complex cases
  • Excellent knowledge of professional and ethical code of conduct
  •  Current Police Check
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Available at least 1-3 days per week
  • Previous experience in private practice preferred but not essential
  • Able to function autonomously
  • Able to work as part of a team environment
  • Exemplary communication skills and ability to build relationships with a range of people
  • An understanding of best practice principles and experience in providing critical incident management services
  • Broad experience in clinical and counselling interventions and related liaison with an ability to work competently and independently with a diverse and complex case load
  • A superior level of interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute effectively to a team setting
  • Warmth, flexibility and calmness under pressure
  • A demonstrated commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and personal and professional development, as well as contributions to the professional development of colleagues
