A rare opportunity to be part of a dynamic case management team.
Defence offers a range of career options for social workers and psychologists. This role primarily supports people who have experienced unwanted sexualised behaviours and provides case management services to these clients. The case management team provides support and advice to military commanders and managers who are managing potential sexual misconduct matters.
The successful applicant will have a client focused framework for practice, including a trauma informed care approach; strong assessment skills; and ability to mitigate risk utilising evidence based best practice approach and the ability to apply thorough case planning models.
This successful applicant will also have opportunities to contribute in SeMPRO’s prevention and education initiatives, and in the delivery of awareness and education packages, in various military locations throughout Australia. The case manager is based in Canberra, but may be required to undertake short term travel to support clients in other locations.
The following skills and experience will also be highly regarded:
· Experience and skills in responding to clients who have experienced sexual assault &/ or other forms of abuse.
· Experience in responding to clients in crisis or following critical incidents.
· Experience in providing guidance and support to enhance outcomes for clients.
· Demonstrated extensive experience of clinical work in social work or psychology, or multi-disciplinary settings.
