About the role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced psychologist to work in CPHB’s Older Persons Mental Health Inpatient Unit. In this role you will provide skilled clinical assessment and interventions to people with complex and acute mental health illness, and have experience in and commitment to working across the lifespan. You will work in close consultation with multidisciplinary teams in the inpatient setting as well as with external community organisations. As an experienced psychologist you will demonstrate a keen interest in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision and promoting professionalism and ethical standards in all areas of work.
Calvary has a small and dedicated team of psychologists who provide services to its two mental health wards and to patients of the antenatal clinic. Whilst the current opportunity is specific to the Older Person Mental Health Inpatient Unit, there may well be future capacity to work in and across these other areas.
The Social Work and Psychology department is committed to high quality patient care and there is a focus on continuing professional development and quality improvement. Our regular in-service learning and peer-consultation programs provide structure and support to team members.
You will be an enthusiastic and experienced psychologist wanting to become part of a committed and supportive team and have:
- General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
- The ability to communicate effectively within the department and across multidisciplinary teams
