Full Time Fixed Term Contract
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is one of Australia's leading Aboriginal Community Controlled health services, with over 250 team members, delivering a broad spectrum of culturally appropriate comprehensive Primary Health Care and Social and Wellbeing services to communities of Cape York.
This position will independently provide a high level of developmental psychology services and discipline leadership for children in Cape York schools and communities to improve the educational and health outcomes as part of a multidisciplinary team, working within Apunipima’s comprehensive family centred Model of Care.
The successful candidate will hold a recognised degree in Psychology and a current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA) – essential.
Apunipima is looking for an individual who has demonstrated experience and competency in a broad range of complex child development/family psychology services – essential. In addition, the individual will have experience working in Education services and rural and remote areas- desirable.
It is essential for the individual to have demonstrated skills in effective mangement of a developmental pyschology caseload working using contemporary service delivery models within a multidisciplinary team to deliver cultural appropriate care. Furthermore, the individual will possess knowledge and understanding of the health, education and social issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and how community controlled health organisation strategies, program and models address these issues.
