Psychologist Senior (Prison Mental Health Services)

About us:

Central Queensland’s Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service are working side-by-side with hospitals, community organisations and health providers to deliver mental health, alcohol and other drug support. From acute inpatient care to community-based recovery services, we are ensuring people receive the care they need.

About the role:

·         You’ll play a key role in delivering specialist psychological assessment, consultation and therapeutic support for clients within the Prison Mental Health Service.

·         Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help manage complex presentations while collaborating with correctional services, external agencies and families to ensure safe, coordinated care.

·         You’ll also supervise developing clinicians, contribute to service improvement and support research and data initiatives.

·         Ongoing professional development, supervision and participation in quality and safety activities will keep your practice strong and aligned with high clinical standards.

About you:

·         You’ll bring a four-year Psychology degree with current AHPRA registration, and ideally eligibility as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner.

·         Your strong communication skills help you build respectful relationships with clients, carers, multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies.

·         You offer advanced clinical capability in assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based intervention, along with the confidence to work independently in complex forensic environments.

·         You also contribute to service growth through supervision, training and research, showing leadership and initiative in shaping high-quality psychological practice.

What we offer:

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.

• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

• 17.5% leave loading
