About the opportunity 

In this position you will support the brain plasticity side of RNG that is currently involved in brain training trials and neuroimaging in older persons. The role will include general clinical trials support, carrying out brain training with older participants, conducting cognitive tests and scheduling and supporting the acquisition of brain scans.

This position is for an initial one-year contract with possibility of extension pending funding outcomes.


About you

  • B.Sc. Honours in Psychology
  • experience with cognitive testing
  • experience working with older individuals
  • coordination and support of brain training trials
  • assist with the recruitment of participants into studies 
  • carry out computer-based cognitive training on small groups of older individuals
  • carry out cognitive tests on older individuals.


Experience in clinical trials and a post graduate degree in psychology, neuroscience or behavioural science would be highly regarded.

The Regenerative Neuroscience Group (RNG) within the Discipline of Anatomy and Histology of the School of Medical Sciences aims to prevent dementia with large-scale lifestyle interventions and develop new cell-based therapies to treat those affected by dementia. RNG is therefore a unique cross-disciplinary research environment that spans single cell lab studies, animal models, brain imaging, clinical trials and epidemiology and policy.
