An opportunity exists within the
NSW/ACT Region for a Regional Director at the Veterans and Veterans Families
Counselling Service. VVCS Regional Directors perform the role of professional
managers in a specified geographic region. They bring extensive experience in
leadership, management and provision of clinical services to their position and
are able to perform with limited direct professional guidance.
Regional Directors contribute to the national strategic direction and
development of VVCS services by providing leadership to regional teams and
contributing to the achievement of the national VVCS agenda. They contribute
to, and are accountable to, the National Manager for implementing the VVCS
Business and Strategic Plan in their region, including identification and
application of quality improvement activities and regional application of VVCS
clinical and non-clinical policy, and evaluation of regional service delivery
Regional Directors are responsible for ensuring high standards of services to
the veteran and ex-service community by the effective management of activities,
resources and relationships in their designated region. Regional Directors
contribute to and ensure the implementation of VVCS national policies and the
business plan at the local level.

strategic alliances with other key business areas. They form regional
partnerships with key external stakeholders in other government departments,
including Defence, service providers and ex-service organisations, to maximise
the effectiveness of VVCS services.
This position is based in Sydney but regularly travels to Canberra and other
VVCS centres within New South Wales.
Eligibility: Mandatory qualifications apply and applicants must be an
Australian Citizen. Working with
Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior
to commencing in the position.
Note: An order of merit will be established that may be used to
fill similar positions within the next 12 months.
