Sensational Kids is 11 years young and continues to grow and adapt in the ever-changing healthcare environment.  It is a company based on strong values of integrity, learning, fun, professionalism and innovation. We are an energetic, creative and skilled team and are looking for a motivated, friendly and talented Psychologist to join our team. 

We see kids aged 0-18 and provide child and family-centred therapy incorporating a range of therapeutic models including DIR Floortime and utilise the Psychodynamic and CBT approachs as well as other models for best practice. We also provide Autism and Psycho-Educational Assessments and are happy to train therapists in the delivery and interpretation of ADOS-2/ ADI-R and other tools. 

Saturdays appointments are in high demand and for this reason we need someone willing to join our Saturday team, although this is not essential.    There is capacity for work 2+ extra days during the week where you will work with other Speech Pathologists, OTs, Psychologists, Dietitians and Music Therapists. The successful candidates will be working from our Ormond & Moonee Ponds sites. 

As a Psychologist on our team you will provide assessment and treatment of children and adolescents, and support/ training for parents.

Our clinics based in Ormond & Moonee Ponds offers a professional, stimulating, supportive and friendly team environment. Our therapists work collaboratively to ensure holistic management of our clients and their families.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provision of individual therapy with clients

Possible involvement in social skills groups or dyads

Assessment of children for various mental health conditions, cognition, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ADOS-2, ADI-R, WPPSI, WISC, CARS, WIAT-III, Vineland etc)

Report writing in relation to assessments & Medicare requirements

Ongoing liaison with our client's management team (GP, other therapists)

Participation in team meetings as required

Opportunity for movement within the clinics, as well as an opportunity for project work and supervision of others. 

Selection Criteria for this position:

Essential

Qualifications:

Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA

Registration with Medicare (assistance provided)

Current Working with Children's Check

Must have own Professional Indemnity Insurance

Knowledge, Skill & Experience

Minimum 2 years' experience post full registration

Demonstrated skill in counseling and case management of children, adolescents and families

Demonstrated skill and experience in providing Psychological interventions

Strong record management and case note taking skills

Demonstrated ability to engage clients effectively

Willingness to learn/ understand the DIR-Floortime model and implement as appropriate

Ability to manage caseload independently but collaboratively in team environment

Desirable

Sound computer literacy skills

Eligible  for Australian Psychological Society Membership

Experience working with or a good understanding of a developmental, play-based model

Strong organizational skills
