Senior Clinician - Intake and Brief Intervention

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists with a new and innovative leadership position within headspace Dandenong and Narre Warren!

The Senior Clinician - Intake and Brief Intervention position is a crucial role within the headspace Dandenong and Narre Warren service and will be required to undertake a number of activities, including, but not limited to engaging, screening and providing effective brief interventions for young people, their families and carers.

This position will work in conjunction with the headspace Intake team and partnering agencies. As the point of access to headspace for young people and other community members, this position will complete comprehensive screening assessment of young people, coordinate supported referrals and provide brief intervention. This person will also assist in the development and delivery of therapeutic groups.

The Senior Clinician - Intake and Brief Intervention is accountable to the Intake Team Leader and sits within the leadership structure of the Intake Team. It is likely that the role will be mostly be based at one of our two sites.

About You:

You must have;

  • a minimum two years' work experience in youth mental health, or similar role, with a demonstrated ability for effective leadership;

  • a minimum Diploma level qualification in Youth Work, Social Sciences, Social Work or a related discipline.

Applications are encouraged from candidates with undergraduate qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, or Social work with eligibility for membership in qualified field.
