About the role

Within the framework of the mission, vision, values, philosophy and policies of Sisters of the Little Company of Mary (LCM), the Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological services for inpatients of the adult mental health unit and to consult with the allied health team as appropriate for patients in other area f the hospital. Patients present with a variety of psychological, emotional, social and medical challenges.

Calvary Public Hospital Bruce provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, intensive care, mental health, surgical, medical and maternity patients. The hospital provides a range of inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, intensive care, mental health, surgical, medical and maternity patients. We offer inpatient mental health services for adults and older persons presenting with acute mental health issues and provide assessment and treatment for a range of mental health issues on a short term basis. Ongoing longer term recovery and support are provided by Community Mental Health services and other support organisations.

The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting skilled clinical assessments and delivering individual and group based psychological interventions, accessing professional development and clinical supervision, participating in quality activities and contributing to multidisciplinary team processes.    


What you bring 

  •     Be registered as a Psychologist with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  •     Current clinical knowledge of psychological services to individuals and groups in inpatient settings, particularly inpatient mental health 
  •     Experience in the field of mental health including clinical assessments, psycho education and structured psychological therapy interventions (both individual and groups based) for complex mental health conditions
  •     A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
