Clinical Psychologist – Northern Beaches/ Dee Why – Private Practice
Are you a Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist Registrar looking to establish independent private practice but seeking the support of a team environment? If so, this may be the opportunity for you.
The Psychological Health Centre began 10 years ago and evolved into its current form in 2017. We wanted to create a place where we could do high quality clinical work, with the choice to work the hours that we want, with the client groups that we are most passionate about, supported by a team of experienced peers and excellent administrative support.
Three years later we are exceptionally proud of our team of seven clinicians (clinical psychologists and mental health occupational therapists) each practicing independently within our centre, each developing their specific interest areas, reputation and referral pathways as well as having the opportunity to maintain a broad range of skills. Clinicians choose their own hours, caseloads, referral types and treatment modalities. Informal and formal peer consultation and clinical supervision are available. Together with an awesome administrative team The Psychological Health Centre offers all the support that clinicians need whilst allowing full professional autonomy. All of this under a very attractive service fee arrangement.
Clinical opportunities we offer
The Psychological Health Centre is located centrally in the Sydney beachside suburb of Dee Why. We are a well-respected private practice with strong relationships with local GPs, mental health services and other local service providers. We receive an extensive range of referrals including children, adolescents and adults. Some of our current areas of interest include mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, trauma, personality disorder, addiction issues, psychosis and perinatal psychology. We draw on a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT, IPT, schema therapy, DBT, EMDR and MiCBT. We offer individual, group and online services. Collectively we are able to provide treatments for most psychological concerns and mental health issues across the lifespan.
For clinicians with experience or interest in working with Dialectical Behaviour Therapy we offer an opportunity to join our DBT Team. Through a cooperative network of clinicians, we provide a Comprehensive DBT program which includes individual therapy, group skills training, skills coaching and a weekly therapist conultation meeting. We work together as a team to provide high quality treatment to clients with emotion regulation difficulties. The majority of our team is intensively trained by Behavior Tech and we can support clinicians to complete their Foundation training.
For clinicians with other areas of interest that you would like to provide in our practice, talk with us, we’ll be happy to help you get established.
Due to growing demand we are currently seeking clinical psychologists and clinical psychology registrars to join our team. Perhaps you are just looking to get started in private practice or you have an established practice but are looking for a change. If you like the sound of working independently within a friendly environment with great admin support and access to experienced professional supportive peers, then we’d love to hear from you!
