Generous remuneration package value up to $110,501 p.a. comprising salary range of $65,894 to $96,849 p.a. (HP3), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Duties/Abilities:

·         Deliver best practice psychological (clinical, health, and psychometric) services to children and their families in collaboration with the paediatric teams.

·         Manage an appropriate caseload using effective time management and prioritisation skills, including clinical and non-clinical responsibilities and the maintenance of accurate patient records and documentation. As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision of a more senior Psychologist.

·         Provide support and cover as required across services in order of priority of service needs if required and as directed.

·         Contribute to the development of clinical practice, procedures and administrative protocols for paediatric psychology and the multidisciplinary team that support the continuum of care. Participate in and collaborate in the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and protocols within paediatric services in accordance with prescribed professional practice standards and ethical guidelines of AHPRA.

About your opportunity

This position involves working with children admitted to our paediatric wards as well as some outpatient paediatric service provision. Some work would also be required in our cochlear clinic. Understanding of developmental theories and therapeutic interventions with children would be highly desirable. Prior experience with children and chronic disease in children would be desirable.

 

The Psychology Service provides enhanced access for admitted children, to psychological assessments and interventions that contributes to a child's ongoing clinical management and care.

 

Requirements are:

·         Mandatory -the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in Psychology and be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsychBA).

·         While not mandatory, a PsychBA Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Health Psychology would be highly regarded, as would PsychBA approved Supervisor status.

·         This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
