Coonamble Aboriginal Health Service (CAHS) is
seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to fill a full-time position of
Psychologist within the Dubbo Regional Aboriginal Health Service (DRAHS) Social
& Emotional Wellbeing Department.
This role is:
- A two year contract with possibility of extension
- A busy clinical role
for a Psychologist to work with clients to prevent, diagnose and treat
psychological issues within a health clinic in NSW.
- Will work in a highly
successful Aboriginal community-controlled organisation providing Psychologist
services to clients

Reporting to the Operations & Systems
Manager, the Psychologist provides clinical expertise while working alongside
the Primary Healthcare team to determine the best course of treatment for
particular patients. You will be responsible for:
- The Provision
of psychological interventions in accordance with established
in clinical supervision as negotiated with the Operations & Systems
counselling sessions within a group setting or with individual clients of
DRAHS/CAHS, while supporting work practices that promote a holistic
primary health care approach, with the aim of achieving the best health
outcomes for service users.
Degree in Psychology
Current psychology registration requirements as determined by
the Psychology Board of Australia.
Minimum 2 years’ experience.

- Demonstrated ability to manage and
work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated knowledge of and
commitment to continuous Quality Improvement
- Demonstrated ability to consult,
liaise with clients, family members, carers, referral agencies and other
relevant agencies as required
- Current NSW Working
with Children’s Check
- Current Criminal History check
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.
knowledge and understanding of On-Line Medicare claiming systems?
Demonstrated experience of working with Aboriginal
of a current ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence valid in NSW is required;
Aid and CPR Certificate
of vaccination is to be provided upon acceptance of appointment.
