Job Description

General Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists and Mental Health Social Workers (registered with Medicare) required to join a team of dedicated and caring mental health professionals to deliver counselling services at Next Door Psychology.    

Positions are currently available for up to five days per week to work within the busy practice in the heart of Werribee, only 30 minutes drive from Melbourne.  Our team are friendly, professional and caring, providing dedicated and high quality services to clients presenting for treatment.   To be a part of this team, you will require a professional approach, and dedication to client's recovery and ability to tailor treatment for their individual needs.  Supervision is available on a regular basis, with individual and group supervision opportunities.  In addition, supervision for the Clinical Registrar program is also available.  

Offering contract positions with flexible hours up to five days per week, our practice offers very competitive rates of pay.  

Next Door Psychology are referred a wide range of clients who present with mild to severe psychological disorders, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders and stress related problems.  We also conduct assessments for clients that present with intellectual impairment, forensic issues, TAC, Victims of Crime and Workcover.   We endeavour to build on each Psychologist's interests, passions and skillset, to build their expertise in working with certain presentations and modalities of therapy.    

Psychologists at our practice are trained in therapies such as ACT, Mindfulness based therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Sensori-Motor Psychotherapy and CBT approaches.   We also have Psychologists who work with forensic clients, refugee clients, conducting cognitive assessments, working with children and group work.            

You will need to fulfil the following requirements:

  1. Registration as a Psychologist or Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and with a Medicare Provider number. 
  2. Professional Indemnity Insurance
  3. High professional standards
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills
  5. Ability to work independently
