Alcohol and Drug Service
The Tasmanian Health Service seeks an Alcohol and Other Drugs Senior Counsellor with a desire to join our progressive, professional and supportive team at the forefront of Alcohol and Drug Services in North West Tasmania for a permanent and fixed term vacancy.
This position offers the successful applicant the chance to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team and provides the opportunity to deliver evidence-based treatment and interventions for individuals and their families who may be physically and/or psychologically dependant on alcohol and/or other substances.
This role will include case-management of clients who are accessing AOD treatment and is focused on strengthening health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, clinically appropriate treatment in partnership with clients, their families and other health professionals to ensure the provision of alcohol and other drug interventions.

Salary: $92,345 to $109,252 pro-rata, per annum
Period of Employment:
Permanent, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Please note that part time hours may be considered.
Fixed term, part time, day work, working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 19 February 2021 – with the possibility of extension.
Deliver a high quality alcohol and other drug treatment service in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) policies, procedures and protocols and relevant professional competencies.
Provide clinical assessments, treatment and case management services to clients of the Alcohol and Drug Service utilising evidence-based best practice principles within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
Provide an assessment and treatment service for people with multiple and complex needs, including co-morbid alcohol and other drug and mental health issues, and their families in accordance with discipline specific skills and abilities.
Act as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with alcohol and other drug needs and promotes community awareness in relation to alcohol and other drugs.
