What is RSS?
RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a web standard for publishing regular updates of web-based content. It allows you to identify the content you like and have it delivered directly to you. It takes the hassle out of having to go from site to site to find the latest updates.
Why would I want to use RSS?
- RSS saves time - PsychXchange uses RSS to deliver the latest job listings. So instead of browsing the PsychXchange website, RSS automatically tells you when new jobs are listed.
- RSS puts the power in your hands - You only receive the information you are interested in. We do not collect any information—including email addresses—from subscriptions to our RSS feed.
How do I get started?
The first thing you need is something called an RSS news reader, and there are two main types of readers - installable desktop programs and web-based services.
There are many readers available. Different readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to take this into account. Some browsers, including Inertnet Explorer version 7 and above, Firefox, Chrome and Safari, have functionality that automatically displays RSS feeds. For more details on these, please check their websites.
Here are some RSS news reader suggestions to get you started:
Please note: PsychXchange and the APS are not responsible for the content of external websites.
