EAP Intake & Counselling Psychologist

Prima is one of Australia’s leading Human Resource Consulting firms, specialising in EAP and Mental Health Consulting, Outplacement and Executive Coaching.  Following the rapid growth of our EAP and Mental Health Consulting business, Prima is looking for an Intake and Counselling Psychologist to join our team.

The Opportunity:

This is a dual role where the successful candidate will be the first point of contact when clients call the EAP to initiate support; as well as provide counselling support and manage their own caseload.

Intake:

  • Undertake clinical triage and intake for clients as the first point of contact to our services
  • Undertake initial and ongoing risk assessments of clients
  • Screen for safety issues, domestic violence, substance abuse and other high-risk considerations; and immediately connect to on-call counsellors
  • Assign EAP staff or associates to client cases
  • Serve a primary role in connecting clients to associate providers in their geographic and expertise area

 Counselling Support:

  • Provide evidence-based psychological intervention services and counselling to individuals
  • Work with a private Employee Assistance Program and manage own caseload

What do I need to join?

  • General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist (supervision available)
  • An engaging and proactive interpersonal style and someone who enjoys working with clients of all levels
  • Ability to consult, be collaborative and work effectively with teams, management, Human Resources and treatment providers
  • Skills to intervene in crisis situations
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent common sense
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
