Senior Clinical Psychologist
  • Grade 2 or 3 psychology role with leading private healthcare service
  • Work with a collaborative and engaged multidisciplinary team 
  • 12 month parental leave position based in Brighton 

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Clinical or Health psychologist to join our rehabilitation psychology team at Epworth’s Brighton campus at either a Grade 2 or 3 level. Your role will be to provide psychological assessment and treatment to clients across a range of interdisciplinary programs including pain management, oncology, neurological, and cardiac services. This includes an interesting mix of inpatient and outpatient and individual and group interventions, working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Grade 3 applicants will have more advanced psychological skills and will also contribute to leadership activities of the psychology department including staff and student supervision and site coordination. We offer a range of clinical supports including supervision and professional development opportunities. 

This is a 12-month part-time parental leave role for 2-3 days per week (0.4-0.6EFT). Applicants need to have endorsement or be on a path towards endorsement in Clinical or Health, or related area of psychology speciality. Offers at a Grade 2 or 3 level will be made based on skills and experience of the applicant. 

You will make an impact by:

  • Using your exceptional clinical skills to determine and deliver appropriate psychological interventions for patients which contribute to their health and well-being
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate standards of practice relating to patient admission, assessment, treatment, family liaison and discharge planning
  • Working collaboratively with other team members to support client rehabilitation goals and functional outcomes
  • Contributing to the activities of the department including planning events, professional development, and service development
  • In Grade 3 role, collaborating with the senior psychology leadership team to provide supervision and performance development support for junior staff, registrars and students as per the supervision and leadership structures of the department 
  • In Grade 3 role, coordinating service provision and development for the psychology team as appropriate for the needs of the site and patient mix 

To be successful in this role…

You will have

  • High quality psychological assessment and intervention skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in working in healthcare teams and ideally hospital systems
  • A Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Health Psychology or related area of speciality
  • General psychologist registration with AHPRA with endorsement in Clinical or Health Psychology or related area of speciality

Grade 3 applicants will additionally have:

  • Experience and registration as a Board approved supervisor with AHPRA   
  • Proven leadership and collaborative qualities
  • Advanced clinical skills
