Sprout Psychology Melbourne (SPM) is a locally owned psychology practice based in Burwood, Melbourne, with a passion for supporting and celebrating cultural and neurodiversity. The SPM practice is a close-knit family of 14, which includes a dedicated team of 10 experienced psychologists. Our collaborative and supportive work environment ensures our team deliver the highest quality care to our diverse clientele.

Sprout Psychology proudly embraces the Neurodiversity Affirmative (NDA) Paradigm and welcomes clinicians who are eager to learn and grow in this area. As one of the very few clinics that embraces neurodiversity in its own culture and practice, the practice’s waiting list has seen a soaring growth and as a result an opening has become available for a Psychologist / Ed&Dev or Clinical Psychology Registrar (early career or recent graduate) to join the team. About the Role

Reporting to the Clinic Director, core responsibilities of the role will include: 

 

  • Provide psychological services using evidence-based practice with children, adolescents, and / or adults.
  • Create and implement appropriate assessment, intervention and therapy plans for clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive neurodiversity affirming assessments across the lifespan (Autism, ADHD, SLDs, ID, Cognitive)
  • Write psychological reports and correspondence to referrers, including submission for NDIS applications
  • Follow practice policies and procedures and the Psychology Code of Ethics
  • Ability to practice in Mandarin and/or Cantonese in addition to English
  • This is a part-time position (3 days per week) with remuneration commensurate with your qualifications, skills, and experience. Registered psychologists at all stages of their career are welcome to apply. 
  • Early career psychologists and Ed & Dev or Clinical Psychology Registrars are also encouraged to apply and join SPM to benefit from Board Approved Supervisors and a structured pathway for Educational & Developmental or Clinical Endorsement

About You

Sprout Psychology is seeking a qualified, registered Psychologist who has a warm professional presence with clients, and a drive for delivering exceptional service. 

You will be a forward-thinking, career-focused individual who is passionate about developmental psychology and neurodiversity. You will take both an evidence based and integrated approach to mental health and be dedicated to making a difference in the lives of your clients.

You will be an excellent communicator with clients of all ages and be Chinese Bi-lingual. The ideal candidate will be confident, sensitive, compassionate, and accurate and focused on helping clients be the best they can be. 

Being a small and growing practice, teamwork and team fit is crucial to our continued growth and success. Like our team, you believe in embracing the Neurodiversity Affirmative Paradigm and may be neurodivergent yourself. 

The Musts

 

  • Masters or Doctoral Degree in Psychology
  • Flexible thinking and exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Independence and a commitment to upholding ethical standards
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Motivated and committed to continuous professional development
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient report writing skills
  • Knowledge of research, evidence-based theory, and clinical practice 
  • Experiencing in administering and scoring various psychometric tests will be highly desired
  • Hold current APHRA registration, Working with Children Check, Professional Indemnity Insurance and Police Check
  • Medicare Provider Number (or be eligible to apply for one)
