Clinical Psychologist (Child & Adolescent)
Are you a psychologist, passionate about working with children and adolescents, and looking to develop a career working with gender-diverse young people and their families?
Are you interested in evidence-based and cutting-edge clinical supervision and training in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of gender dysphoria in young people, and culturally competent/evidence-based mental health interventions in this population?
About King Street Psychology Clinic (www.kingstreetpsychologyclinic.com.au)
We are a team of clinical psychologists/clinical registrars, psychiatrists, and speech paths providing assessment and evidence-based therapies for adults, adolescents, children, and families in the Inner-West of Sydney. We are centrally located in Newtown, 2 minutes from Newtown station. We provide psychological interventions for a broad range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief & loss, stress management, relationship issues, and issues surrounding sexuality.
Additionally, our clinicians have expertise in clinical assessment and evidence-based support for clients experiencing gender dysphoria and sexuality-related matters. The King Street Gender Identity Service (GIS), nested within our practice, provides an evidence-based and holistic approach to assessment and clinical care for gender dysphoric children and adolescents that is informed by the latest developments in the field, and that is mindful of complexity.
Our team comprises clinical psychologists with extensive experience working with gender dysphoric young people and providing expert supervision in this area of practice, as senior psychologists at The Gender Centre and Westmead Gender Identity Clinic. We have published and lectured on these matters and provide supervision on gender/sexuality to psychologists and other health professionals in Australia and abroad. We also have a pediatric clinical neuropsychologist on our team providing psychometric assessment (including ADHD/ASD) of young people at our clinic - as well as supervision on psychometric assessment if this is of interest to you.
