Peaceful Mind Psychology is offering Saturday positions to Psychologists looking to start their journey into a supportive private practice

 

  

Are you considering dipping your toe into the world of private practice? Peaceful Mind Psychology (https://peacefulmind.com.au/) is offering unique private practice Saturday positions for both early career and experienced psychologists who might be interested in starting out their journey into private practice. Our comprehensive onboarding process ensures your transition to our practice is a smooth one, regardless of whether you've worked in private practice before, or are brand new to private work. Peaceful Mind Psychology provides 360° support, peer connection and has a heavy focus on self-care, so you can be assured you'll be well supported right from the get go.  

 

Our practice believes that if we care for our psychologists' wellbeing and development first and foremost, this has a flow-on effect to our clients. You can view more about our culture and values on our website.

 

We are offering positions for early career psychologists (including registrars), as well as experienced Psychologists, to consult private clients on a Saturday (plus other days if desired) via a mix of Telehealth and F2F appointments at our Hawthorn, Armadale and Prahran locations. 

 

 

We offer our psychologists: 

 

Peer support and CPD via:

 

  • Regular social gatherings (picnics and garden parties), with an inclusive and supportive practice culture
  • Self-care groups run by board-approved supervisor
  • Online intranet and therapy resources
  • Monthly peer consult groups operating via Zoom 
  • Direct support with our board-approved supervisor and Principal Psychologist on an as-needed basis
  • One-on-one training to learn the ropes of private practice work
  • Workshops and tips and tricks for psychologists entering private practice
  • Access to professional development run by the practice to upskill in various different areas
  • You can choose work a half day (e.g. 3-4 clients) or full day (5-6 clients) to best suit your clinical needs


Professional rooms with:

 

  • Comfortable consulting rooms with a boutique feel and windows in each room
  • Nearby car parking and access via public transport
  • Printing and stationary supplies
  • Access to our online booking and clinical notes system


Excellent renumeration with:

 

  • Percentage split structure based on 50-minute client sessions
  • No costs for room hire, supervision, admin support etc. (no hidden costs)
  • Take-home per session is $132 for general psychologists and registrars, with a higher rate for clinically endorsed psychologists
  • Reception charges cancellation fees at 50% of the standard session


Administration support with:

 

  • Matching clients to your areas of interest and expertise, handling of intake and cancellations. We use Halaxy which allows you to process payments and rebates at the end of your appointments in a quick and easy way.
  • Access to our external referrals network for liaison with other allied health professionals as needed.
 

 

A bit more about Peaceful Mind Psychology:

 

Our practices are located in Armadale, Prahran and Hawthorn. We have a team of over 45 Psychologists; all of whom are warm and professional (we have comments from our existing team members on what it's been like to work at Peaceful Mind on our website). We predominately consult young adults between the ages of 17-35 concerning various issues, such as relationship problems, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and stress. 

 

 

We are interested if you:

 

  • Highly value client engagement via the use of counselling skills, competence in evidence-based intervention, and reflective practice.
  • Are able to consult via a mix of F2F and Telehealth.
  • Are fully registered with AHPRA as a psychologist. Clinical endorsement or registrar status is desirable but not required.
  • Are willing to obtain an ABN, Medicare Provider Number and Professional Indemnity Insurance. 
  • Are willing to work a Saturday.
