About the Opportunity
South Western Sydney Local
Health District is seeking a dedicated Psychologist to join our Drug Health
Youth Service.
This role offers an exciting
opportunity to work with young people experiencing substance use issues,
providing evidence-based psychological interventions and support.
Our Drug Health Services are
committed to delivering comprehensive care through prevention, early
intervention, treatment, and harm reduction strategies.
The Youth Services program
focuses on helping young people navigate their journey to recovery by offering
specialised care tailored to their unique needs.
As a part of our
multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the holistic approach we take in
improving the health and wellbeing of youth in our community.
We are looking for someone with
a passion for making a difference, excellent communication skills, and
experience in youth mental health or substance use treatment.
What You'll be Doing
To deliver evidence-based
psychological assessments and interventions in order to address the needs of
consumers who are living with a wide range of behavioural and emotional
disorders.

- Full
registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in
the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
- Demonstrated
effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of
clinical outcomes with diverse patient and/or consumer populations.
- Demonstrated
experience working independently in the provision of
patient/consumer-focused care.
- Demonstrated
knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development,
implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated
ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish
service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated
high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to
adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license
(including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included)
from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included)
license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not
permitted.
