About the role
You will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the psychology workforce across St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), as well as the operational management of those who report through to you. You will notionally dedicate 0.6FTE to the Mental Health & Wellbeing and Addiction Medicine Program and the remaining 0.4FTE to the other Clinical Programs across SVHM.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Leadership of the psychology workforce including planning, development, recruitment & allocation of services
- Oversight of high-quality education at SVHM
- Clinical governance including clinical accountability, credentialing and scope of practice
- Clinical supervision of skills and competencies of all Psychology staff at SVHM
- Develop clinical policies, plans and programs to enhance the service’s capability
- Collaboration with clinical and operational program managers to support the psychology (including neuropsychology) roles within interdisciplinary teams
This position will be classified as Psychologist Grade 5 – TT16 ($164,398 per annum)
Your Contribution
Registrations
- A tertiary qualification (Masters or Doctoral level qualification) in Psychology
- Registered as a Psychologist with AHPRA, with specialist endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology
- AHPRA Primary and Secondary Supervisor endorsement for post-graduate psychology students and psychology registrars
- Endorsement for the Psychology Board of Australia in a relevant Area of Practice
Experience & Other
- Extensive experience as a psychologist at a senior level in public health services and/or in Mental Health & Wellbeing
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Masters or Doctoral level qualification
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Psychology
SVHM employs approximately 47 Psychologists who work across a range of programs including Mental Health, Health Independence Program (HIP) and Neuroscience and it is expected that this position provides professional leadership and governance to this workforce. This position is based at the Fitzroy Campus of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM), but will also provide support and services (as required) across all SVHM sites and Programs.
