Are
you ready to lead a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact? We are seeking a
Senior Psychologist/Senior Specialist Psychologist to join us at Mannus
Correctional Centre.
Your role
As
a Senior Psychologist, you will provide direct psychological services and
programs to offenders within a custodial setting. Your role involves offering
high-level expertise in psychological assessment, intervention, and case
management, particularly in complex cases. Mannus is a minimum security centre
with a focus on works release and reintegration.
What you’ll
do
· Develop
and refine policies and procedures related to psychology services for offenders
across custodial and community settings.
· Provide
regular individual and group supervision to Psychologists, ensuring high
standards of service delivery and professional growth.
· Deliver
direct psychological interventions for complex cases, leveraging your expertise
to address challenging needs.
· Support
professional training and development initiatives for Psychologists within your
cluster.
· Ensure
thorough and compliant documentation on the Offender Integrated Management
System (OIMS) and in case files for all offenders receiving psychological
services.
· Coordinate
and negotiate psychological service provision with stakeholders while
maintaining clear role boundaries within your cluster or area.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Specialist Psychologist
· Oversee
the management of more complex offenders to comprehensively address risks and
needs.
· Provide
advanced clinical leadership and supervise staff, promoting best practices and
high service standards.
· Lead
research and evaluation projects aimed at improving psychology services and
programs within the Department.
What we’re looking for
·
Proven expertise in correctional psychology,
particularly in assessing and treating mental health issues, cognitive
impairments, and behaviour management.
·
Strong understanding of contemporary correctional
principles relevant to psychological assessments and interventions.
·
Expertise in criminogenic risk assessments,
especially regarding sex and violent offending.
·
In-depth knowledge of ethical and legal obligations
in psychology practice.
·
Demonstrated ability in supervising and mentoring
Psychologists.
Essential
requirements
·
Minimum four-year accredited qualification in
psychology with full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
· Eligible to be an
authorised supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia and willingness to
supervise provisional psychologists and students.
· Demonstrated
experience in assessment and treatment including mental health, cognitive
impairment and people who sexually offend
·
Current driver’s license and willingness to travel
throughout NSW.

Psychologist Requirements
·
In addition to the above, applicants must hold a
master’s degree or higher in a relevant specialist area such as clinical
psychology, forensic psychology, counselling psychology, or neuropsychology and
demonstrate how
you meet the essential criteria in the Crown Psychologist Award.
