About the Role
This is a Senior Psychology grade 3 role, 0.5EFT.
The psychologist will maintain an active case-load, prioritise and triage referrals from case managers. The psychologist will provide evidence-based, best practice psychological assessments and interventions to consumers, particularly those with chronic and/or complex presenting issues. The psychologist will prepare psychological reports or letters and provide effective verbal or written feedback to referrers, consumers and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. NDIA). The position also provides secondary consultation to the team and a broad range of relevant stakeholders. Secondary consultations cover formulation, treatment and management of consumers. Involvement in writing and preparing behavioural support plans along with systemic treatment plans may also be required as part of the role. The psychologist is required to provide supervision to grade 2 psychologists and students.
Key result areas:
- Provide evidence based psychological intervention for individuals and/or groups at the CMHS.
- Provide a comprehensive range of psychological assessments including diagnostic, cognitive and personality assessments.
- Assist with diagnostic clarification, formulation and treatment planning.
- Prepare psychological reports, and provide effective verbal and written feedback to referrers, consumers and their families/ carers and other professionals supporting their care.
- Develop and implement behavioural support plans and other management plans as required.
- Offer a psychological perspective (e.g., understanding of the theories of human behaviour and psychopathology) to the treating team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and refer to appropriate ongoing psychological support as part of discharge planning.
- Actively participate in own supervision and professional development.
- Actively participate in reaching operational business Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and participate in department meetings and other meetings when requested or required.
- Ensure quality, timeliness and relevance of psychological services are provided.
- Supervise Grade 2 psychologists and students on placement as directed by Discipline Senior or delegate
- Participate in research into the service delivery and treatment outcomes in consultation with Operational and Professional leads
