Role Details
The Department for Child Protection is seeking multiple Psychologists
and Senior Psychologists to join on a term and ongoing basis.
The roles are responsible for:

Conducting evidence-based, efficient and
independent clinical psychological assessments of clients.
·
Designing and implementing therapeutic programs
that are culturally appropriate and address the presenting issues, individual
factors and unique context of clients.
·
Working closely with the Principal Psychologist
to ensure psychologists provide effective and efficient clinical psychological
assessments and where appropriate, the provision of therapy to clients.
·
Participating in the development and delivery of
training to staff, carers and external agencies.
·
Consulting, supporting and leading of
Psychologists and Psychology Masters students by overseeing and monitoring
quality of work undertaken.
About You
We are looking for confident individuals who have an
understanding of the effect of abuse and neglect on children and young people
and the factors that place families at risk.
You will have experience in the use of psychological
diagnostic techniques and implementation of therapeutic interventions.
To be considered at the higher level of classification, you will be experienced in providing clinical
leadership, fostering professional development, and identifying and meeting
training needs.
You will also have knowledge of areas such as the effects of
abuse and neglect on children and young people, child development,
psychological disorders and interventions, and clinical and forensic assessment
techniques.

Special Conditions
Essential Qualifications:
·
Masters Degree in Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychology
or equivalent
·
Registered under the Health Practitioner
Regulation National law to practice as a Psychologist
·
For engagement at AHP3 level: Psychology
Board of Australia endorsement as a Clinical, Forensic or Health Psychologist
or willingness to work towards clinical endorsement.
Note: Provisional psychologists (Masters
Students) are also encouraged to apply. If you anticipate you will be
completing your Masters Degree in 2024 please enquire as we may be able to
consider your application at the AHP1 remuneration until registration is completed.
Attraction and Retention Allowance is available for successful candidates
with endorsement in an area of Psychological Practice.
