Our Journey

Monash Health Gender Clinic is offering a permanent Grade 2 psychology position (hours negotiable, minimum 0.6 EFT including the option of Saturdays). The clinic is based at Dandenong Headspace and the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda, and requires occasional travel to other Monash Health locations in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne. The Monash Health?Gender Clinic?is a state-wide service that facilitates gender-affirming care for clients 16 years and over, including those seeking medical gender transition. The Gender Clinic comprises a specialist team of psychiatrists, psychologists, peer workers, allied health, research and administrative staff. The clinic consults with a Consumer Advisory Panel and undertakes research and quality activities.  

About The Role  

Grade 2 Gender Clinic psychologists provide clients with comprehensive diagnostic assessments consistent with WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) Standards of Care. You will contribute to client management plans   

as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Reasonably flexible working hours and arrangements are accommodated, including a mixed model of working on site and from home.   

About You 

You identify as an ally or member of the LGBTQI+ community. Experience in working with the?gender diverse community, and with clients who have a history of trauma or neurodivergence is desirable. Experience working in mental health settings is also desirable. You will support and be supported by our multidisciplinary team in the delivery of pragmatic, client-centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences is essential, along with excellent time-management. You are adaptive in your day-to-day work, and innovative with regard to service delivery within public health.
