About the Perinatal Community Service & Parent Infant Program/Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Division

The Perinatal Community Service (PCS) and the Parent Infant Program (PIP) operate across multiple Austin Health sites, including the Austin and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospitals and Hawdon Street Community Mental Health Clinic. PCS and PIP are part of the broader Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Division. We provide services within a specialist outpatient team, including outreach to home and admitted inpatients in hospital.

About the role

As the Clinical Psychologist (Grade 3), you will report the Manager of the Perinatal Community Service and work closely with the Manager of PCS and PIP, Consultant Psychiatrists of PCS and PIP, and collaborate with PCS/PIP and broader mental health team.

A regular day will see you:

• Provide brief, time-limited couple sessions to inpatients of PIP
• Assess and provide in-home outreach based therapies and interventions to parents with infants under the age of focused on relational attachment work
• Liaise with multiple stakeholders of your outpatient client caseload
• Develop and provide training and education in parent-infant work to other staff within Austin Health and external groups as required.
