About the role
In this role you will be providing evidence-based psychological interventions
and contributing to programs to promote the psychological adjustment of people
affected by cancer. You will be a part of the CCQ’s Cancer Counselling Service,
delivering telehealth and face to face counselling interventions to people
affected by cancer and their families.
This role is a permanent part-time position (22.5 hours per
week) based in Cairns, Queensland.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Registration
as a psychologist with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation
Authority (AHPRA)
- Experience
in clinical or counselling psychology, preferably in oncology.
- Skills
in the delivery of evidence-based telephone and/or face-to-face
psychological interventions
- Be
eligible for a Medicare Provider Number
- An
understanding of the psychosocial impact of cancer on individuals,
partners and families. Experience or training focused in the area of
bereavement, grief and loss is highly valued
- Postgraduate
tertiary qualification in psychology is desirable but not essential.
