Acacia Connection is an Employee Assistance provider that is making a difference to the lives of thousands of employees and their immediate families in the area of mental health. We provide high quality, exceptional counselling services and assistance to individuals who have personal and/or work-related issues that may impact their wellbeing, work performance, safety, individual and workplace morale and psychological health.

We provide nationwide mental health support 24/7, delivered by qualified mental health professionals.

We are looking for experienced Psychologists to join our after-hours team on a subcontractor basis.

Acacia's call centre operates 24/7. Outside of our standard business hours (7am to 7pm AEST Mon to Fri) we have a team of Psychologists oncall to respond to requests for urgent counselling, crisis support services.  We are seeking additional members to join this team, as contractors, delivering services across a roster that would typically include one night a week and one shift on the weekend (24 hour), depending on the team numbers and availability. There is capacity to pick up more or less work, to align with your current roles and responsibilities.

 

Key responsibilities:

* Respond to all requests for urgent, immediate counselling to those in distress or requesting immediate assistance.

* Provide additional EAP services including Manager Support and Critical Incident phone support.

* To be successful in this role, you will require a high level of compassion as well as professional knowledge and experience.

* You will be working within a fast-growing organisation that requires patience and flexibility.

* The role requires attention to detail and the ability to manage complexity associated with boundaries and multiple stakeholders.

* You will need to focus on clients to continually ensure that solutions are in their best interests.

 

What we are looking for:

* Successful applicants will be AHPRA registered psychologists.

* 5 years post-registration experience.

* Excellent phone counselling skills drawn from evidence-based frameworks, with demonstrated competency and experience conducting risk assessments and safety planning.

* Previous experience in delivering counselling through an EAP is desirable.

* Ability to self-manage and work autonomously.

* Confidence using technology and an IT case management system.
