About the Role:
The Wellness and Recovery Centre (WRC) is an eating disorder service that is treatment based and recovery orientated. Teams provide care to both acute inpatient medical units and community treatment options utilising evidence based therapies, within a person centred model.
This new role (FREED Champion) will be an invaluable addition to the WRC service.
The FREED champion will provide early intervention and engagement to young person 18-25 within the first 3 years of their eating disorder presentation. In addition, this role will promote and enhance eating disorder early identification and care across the wider service system. This role will be a welcomed addition to the Outpatient Treatment Team. The Outpatient team is a multidisciplinary team providing evidenced based treatment to consumers aged over 18 years at Monash Medical Centre with a focus on the delivery of psychological therapies specifically for eating disorders.
This role will also:
- Develop and implement the early intervention program (FREED) that aligns with best practice standards and evidence based care
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across various disciplines to create a seamless care pathway for individuals with eating disorders
- Provide senior clinical leadership and consultation services to enhance the management of eating disorders in community and hospital-based settings
- Promote cultural change and awareness of eating disorders within the Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service and the broader community
- Lead ongoing service improvement, primary or secondary consultation, education and training that positively enhances the outcomes for clients with complex eating disorders
The role is a 3 year FT role. Part time applicants welcome to apply. The role will combine service delivery and program evaluation.
About You
You are an experienced clinician with a proven track record in the field of eating disorders. You enjoy working within a team environment and have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient-centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide audience is a core competency for this position, along with excellent time-management skills and extensive knowledge and skills working with people presenting with an eating disorder.
What you need:
- Current registration with AHPRA or relevant body.
- Working with Children’s Check
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications in mental health
