Are you passionate about mental health education and eager to make a meaningful impact? We are looking for a dedicated Clinical Educator to join our team and play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance clinical skills, build staff capacity, and promote mental health awareness.

 

The opportunity

As a Clinical Educator, you will design and coordinate mental health education initiatives that support workforce development, improve understanding of mental health and mental illness, and align with national and state policies, plans and strategies.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with Mental Health Service Group teams, the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Learning, James Cook University, and other institutions to research, plan, and deliver mental health education and training.
  • Coordinate and deliver workforce development programs, including those provided by the Centre for Mental Health Learning and other required training initiatives.
  • Support Program Managers, Team Leaders, Senior Clinicians, and Discipline Seniors in facilitating training programs across the Institute, including mandatory training.
  • Foster new and non-traditional educational partnerships to enhance intersectoral service collaboration and equip allied service providers with the necessary skills to support consumer recovery.
  • Contribute to the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of strategic plans, policies, and continuous quality improvement initiatives within Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

 

What’s on offer?
Permanent Full-time, 76 hours per fortnight.

Remuneration package of up to $157,360 p.a., comprising base salary range of $128,169 - $137,918p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HP4), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

Role requirements
The successful applicant must possess a four year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

 

Possession of a Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited tertiary institution, or significant progress towards this, would be well regarded.
