  • Are you a clinical psychologist has a passion for working with people with cancer and other chronic conditions? 

 

  • We are seeking an experienced and innovative clinical psychologist to join the Psychosocial Cancer Care & Palliative Care Team

  • Permanent, 16 hours per week

  • Work across Fitzroy and Kew sites

 

About the Role

The senior clinical psychologist will provide a range of high quality psychological services embedded within the team of psychiatrists, psychiatry trainees and a music therapist.

 

Responsibilities

  • Psychological therapies

  • Crisis intervention and assessment

  • Development and evaluation of team self-care

  • Critical incident and staff debriefing

  • Clinical teaching in the area of psychology within as part of the educational programme in palliative care

  • Conducting audits and other quality activities to further develop and improve psychology services for cancer and palliative patients

Allocation is currently 4 sessions per week of clinical work, inclusive of participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings at fixed times in the week.

 

Classifications for this position will range from PL1 - PL4 ($108,279.60 - $123,905.60 per annum, pro-rata)


Your contribution

  • Endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in the area of Clinical Psychology.

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency;

  • Post graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology

  • Minimum of five years’ full time equivalent, post-registration experience in clinical psychology preferably working with people and their families with chronic physical health, or mental health vulnerabilities and people with advanced illness.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience in a range of clinical interventions including CBT, DBT, Schema and ACT, with specific demonstrated expertise in delivery or development of evidence-based treatments relevant in the area of mental health.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.

  • Highly developed interpersonal, time management and communication skills

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice.

  • Current and satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check.
