Child and Adolescent Psychologist

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Child and Adolescent Psychologist to join our dedicated team at the Hunter Children's Clinics in Newcastle, NSW. This is a permanent part-time position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and adolescents in our community.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions for children and adolescents with a range of emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including paediatricians, speech therapists and occupational therapists, to deliver comprehensive care

  • Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans to address the unique needs of each client

  • Conducting individual therapy sessions to support the overall wellbeing of the child or adolescent

  • Maintaining detailed case notes and providing progress reports to referring practitioners

  • Participating in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychology

What we're looking for

  • Registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience providing psychological services to children and adolescents

  • Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based intervention techniques

  • Experience administering WISC-V, WPPSI-IV, ADOS-2, and other relevant psychometric assessments

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

  • A commitment to providing compassionate, family-centred care

  • Acceptance and validation of the particular strengths and needs of each individual engaging with our clinic
