Grief
Australia is an independent, not for profit organisation,
striving to change the way Australia lives with grief. It is a leading voice on grief in Australia,
providing evidence-informed counselling, training, and research to collectively
strengthen the nation’s response to grief. It believes that by leading with
empathy, courage, curiosity, and compassion, people can live and learn
together, and a greater understanding of grief will become possible.
The
primary focus of this position is to develop, deliver, coordinate and
facilitate accredited and non-accredited education , ensuring participants are
equipped with the knowledge and skills required to deliver a high standard of
care. You will provide high level subject matter expertise and ensure that all
resources and education delivery is evidence-informed, current and of the
highest quality. It is a permanent position (0.8) and will require occasional
interstate travel.
Key
requirements for this specialist role include
- Graduate level qualification in bereavement counselling;
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40110). At least five years’
experience as a counsellor;
- Minimum of two years in teaching at a Tertiary level or within a Registered
Training Organisation;
- Eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association, such as the
AASW or the APS;
- A
good understanding of the grief and bereavement literature and of contemporary
evidence-based practice.
