About the Business
Our Youth Justice and Inclusion Support team is responsible for tertiary elements of the youth justice system, including custodial and community-based supervision and support. Through program and service development and delivery, they help children and young people with their rehabilitation and to reconnect with their family and culture.
Role Details
The Clinical Manager, reporting to the Principal Psychologist within Community and Aboriginal Partnerships, leads a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and developmental educators.
This role oversees clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based assessments, consultations, and interventions aligned with organisational goals.
You will provide expert leadership in supporting young people with complex mental health, developmental, and behavioural needs, particularly at Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre (KTYJC).
Key responsibilities include supervising staff performance, delivering forensic clinical consultation, coordinating treatment planning, and driving quality assurance through training and policy implementation.
This position also contributes to research, policy development, and ensures best practice in managing high-needs youth in custodial settings.

Essential Qualifications:
- A Masters’ level qualification in Clinical, Forensic or other Applied Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia to practice as a psychologist as well as Psychology Board of Australia status as a Board Approved Supervisor; or
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia; or
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OBTA) and must hold and maintain registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
