seeking to fill a vacancy for Psychologists/Social Workers providing
counselling to students. Student Support team are seeking suitably qualified
candidate with an understanding of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and
a passion for working with students.
What will you do?
As
Psychologist/Social Worker in the CIT Counselling team you will be providing
therapeutic counselling to students on a broad range of personal and/or
study-related issues, providing consultations and training to staff on
student-related issues and participating in mental health promotion events. The
roles may require working across CIT locations. If you are passionate about

Eligibility/Other
Requirements:
What do I need?Applicants need to
have extensive demonstrated experience in therapeutic counselling applying
evidence-based approaches. They should possess the ability to be patient, calm,
flexible, have good administration skills and establish rapport with diverse
students and staff.
Mandatory
qualifications and/or registrations/licencing:
- Tertiary
qualifications in Psychology/Social work and at least 3 years’ experience in
therapeutic counselling
For Psychologists:
Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory
Agency (Psychology Board of Australia).
For Social
Workers: Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social
Workers (AASW) and a current registration issued under the Working with
Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further

Desirable:
- Demonstrated
ability to conduct psychological assessment testing
- Experience
counselling students in an educational institution
- Current drivers license
Notes: This is a temporary part-time position
available immediately up until 21 August 2026. A Merit Pool will be established
from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12
months.
