About us
Northern Health (NH) is one of Melbourne’s largest and fastest growing public health services.
We have a dedicated Mental Health Division which includes Adult and Older Adult services.
The Northern Health Division of Mental Health (NHMHD) delivers mental health care and support to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and health care needs.
We also provide a range of community based services and inpatient services across a number of sites in the municipalities of Darebin, Whittlesea, Merri-bek and Hume.

About our Registrar Program:
We are recruiting psychologists into the NHMHD Psychology Registrar Program, which offers:
- A two year rotational program with opportunities to work across two different clinical services.
- A structured program of education
- Individual and group supervision
- Being a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Professional development/study leave.
- The opportunity to administer psychological assessments and interventions for a range of mental health conditions.
- Opportunities to learn and participate in case management
- Multiple opportunities to increase your psychological knowledge and skills.
- Possibility of ongoing permanent employment upon successful completion of the program.
These positions are Fixed Term until February 2028, Full Time - 80 hours per fortnight and you will will based in our community, residential and inpatient services located in Broadmeadows, Merri-bek, Epping, Mill Park, Bundoora and Preston.
To be successful in the role you will have the ability to:
- Deliver evidenced based assessments and psychological interventions to consumers presenting with a broad range of high- and low- prevalence disorders;
- Work effectively with consumers, their families and other supports
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary including our Lived Experience workforce
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
You will need:
- Full registration as a psychologist with the PBA (obtained by start date of the program).
- A Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology, approved by the ACPA.
- A current Victorian Driver’s License, and ongoing ability to use this form of transport
- A current Working with Children’s Check.
