About the Role

Join our Spinal Rehabilitation Unit as a Psychologist and help patients with spinal cord injuries emotionally adjust to their injury, regain their independence, and maximise their recovery potential. Work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, deliver education sessions, conduct psychological assessment and intervention to foster resilience and promote positive mental health outcomes for patients.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments
  • Design and deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions
  • Educate patients, families, and staff on the psychological impact of a spinal cord injury and strategies to promote adjustment
  • Collaborate with and provide consultancy to the multidisciplinary team to guide best patient care
  • At the AHP3 level: Provide clinical leadership, supervision to provisional psychologists on placement, manage a complex caseload, and lead research and quality improvement activities to drive better health outcomes

Qualifications

AHP-2  Registration as a Psychologist under the provisions of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (SA) Act 2010 and Regulations

AHP-3  Must hold general registration with the PBA and be endorsed in (Clinical and/or Health Psychology) area of practice.   Must hold approved supervisor status with the PBA at all levels of supervision.
