Psychologist for Private Practice opposite Ringwood Lake

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic registered Psychologist to join our warm and supportive team at Umbrella Psychology and Allied Health starting in March.

This role is ideal for a practitioner who strives for excellence, values collaboration, and is seeking flexibility and autonomy within a nurturing professional environment.

About the Role

As a Psychologist at Umbrella Psychology and Allied Health, you will provide counselling and therapy services, supporting clients to enhance their wellbeing and achieve meaningful change.

We are committed to creating a genuinely supportive and collaborative working environment. We take time to understand your clinical interests, strengths, and preferred client presentations, and wherever possible, we shape caseloads to reflect these. We believe psychologists do their best work when they feel confident and aligned with the populations they serve.

You will have professional autonomy in your role, including the ability to decline client presentations that are not the right fit for your skills or scope of practice—without judgment or pressure. Clinical discussions are grounded in respect, reflective practice, and shared decision-making, ensuring you feel supported, valued, and heard.

As a contractor, you will enjoy:

•The ability to set your own hours, including evenings if desired.

•Options for half or full days available.

•Full administrative and reception support provided (60/40 split) including marketing, client payments, and appointment scheduling - so you can focus on your client work.

•A beautifully appointed, light-filled clinic surrounded by greenery and overlooking Ringwood Lake.

•A clinic culture that safeguards against burnout, including the option to schedule an extra hour of admin time to your day (in addition to your lunch break) to catch up, reflect and reset between clients.

•Group and Individual supervision available.

Our practice is conveniently located within walking distance to Ringwood Station and offers ample on-site parking for both clients and practitioners.

 Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based counselling and psychological therapy to all clients.

• Ability to draw from a wide range of therapeutic modalities to best meet the unique needs of each client.

• Maintain accurate and up to date client records, including case notes, reports, and correspondence with referrers or other professionals.

•Collaborate with other in-house allied health clinicians to provide holistic, client-centred care.

 • Uphold ethical standards in all aspects of practice.

• Ability to work with children as part of your caseload is highly desirable due to strong demand for services for young people and their families at our clinic.

•Prior experience and/or a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients is highly valued.

Requirements

• Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist.

• Membership with APS or AAPi.

• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).

•Own Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.

•Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative, supportive team.

•Prior experience in private practice is highly valued but not essential - support and guidance is available for those transitioning into private work.

WHY JOIN US

•Supportive and inclusive team culture that prioritises clinician wellbeing.

•Flexible contractor arrangement to suit your lifestyle.

•Safeguards against burnout, including option for structured admin time.

• Reception and admin services provided.

• Established referral pathways and marketing support.

• A tranquil, natural setting with light-filled consulting rooms.

• Convenient location close to public transport and ample parking on-site.

If you're seeking a warm, supportive team environment where you can truly make a difference, we'd love to hear from you!
