Mental Health Clinicians – First Nations Outreach (FIFO/DIDO)

Our service demand continues to grow, especially in regional and remote communities. We’re expanding our team — not replacing it — and we’re looking for passionate clinicians ready to make a real impact.

We welcome applications from AHPRA registered professionals.  Psychologists – Clinical, General or Provisional and  Occupational Therapists (Better Access Endorsement)

Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time (min. 3 days/week)

Locations:  We have offices in Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast and Thursday Island and we currently provide FIFO services to the following locations https://wakai-waian.com.au/our-locations/

What You’ll Bring

  • Current registration with AHPRA  (or eligibility)
  • Willingness to complete pre-employment screening (NDIS, Blue Card, etc.)
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Experience or openness to working with First Nations families and communities

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver individual therapy (ages 5–75)
  • Provide outreach and telehealth services
  • Conduct assessments, care planning, and therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with community and service partners
  • Uphold high standards of ethical, legal, and professional practice
  • Work within a culturally safe, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented framework
