Psychologist (Inependent Contractor Position – 2+ Days per Week)

Are you a thoughtful, grounded psychologist who values depth over rush, presence over productivity, and meaningful work over volume?

The Psychological Pause is a boutique private practice in Pakenham providing counselling support adult clients through trauma-informed therapies. We are growing and seeking a psychologist to join our small, supportive team on a 2-day per week contract basis, with the possibility of growth in time.


About The Role

  • 2 days per week (with opportunity to expand)
  • Adult clients (18+)
  • Contractor position
  • In-person work in a warm, purpose-designed clinic space
  • Administrative support provided (reception, billing, systems)
  • Established referral pathways
  • Supervision available
  • Flexible schedule options

You will work with a range of presenting concerns including:

  • PTSD and complex trauma
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relationship and attachment difficulties
  • Emotional regulation challenges
  • Stress, burnout, and life transitions

What We’re Looking For

  • Full Registeration Psychologist with AHPRA
  • Police Check
  • Indemnity Insurance
  • Experience working with adult clients
  • Trauma-informed approach
  • EMDR training preferred (but not essential)
  • Warm, relational style
  • Ability to work independently within a collaborative team
  • Commitment to ethical, reflective practice
