This is a
great opportunity for a psychologist to join a dedicated mental health
team supporting the Burdekin community. Based at Ayr
Hospital, you’ll provide evidence based psychological
assessment, formulation and intervention across the lifespan within a
collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The team values reflective
practice, shared learning and high quality consumer care, with new
starters supported through structured orientation, senior
clinical guidance and opportunities to further develop therapeutic
skills.
About
the Opportunity
The Rural and
Remote Mental Health Program delivers mental health and alcohol and drug
services to communities across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service
region. This position is based at the Burdekin Mental Health
Service, located within Ayr Hospital.
In this role,
you will provide psychological assessment, formulation,
therapeutic intervention and care coordination for consumers
experiencing complex and severe mental health and/or substance use concerns.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and external service
providers to deliver person centred, evidence informed care.
You’ll have
the opportunity to work across the lifespan, contribute to integrated models
of care and support the wellbeing of individuals and families within
the Burdekin community.

What You’ll Need
Mandatory
- A four-year degree in
Psychology (Honours or equivalent)
- Registration with the Psychology Board of
Australia (AHPRA)
Highly
desirable
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology
or significant progress towards completion
- Training or qualifications in individual or group
therapeutic modalities
- Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental
Health Practitioner
