Location: Townsville, QLD 

Permanent Full-time | 76 hours per fortnight

Are you an experienced psychologist with advanced therapeutic expertise and a passion for leading meaningful clinical change? Join Townsville HHS as our Clinical Leader – Therapeutic Interventions, where you will shape service-wide therapeutic practice and deliver high-impact interventions for adults accessing community mental health care. 

 

About the Role 

In this senior position, you will provide advanced psychotherapeutic interventions, lead capability development across multidisciplinary teams, and guide the integration of evidence-based therapies across the Adult Community Care Team. You will work with a high level of autonomy, offering expert clinical advice, supporting complex case work and contributing to research, training and service innovation. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Deliver advanced, culturally responsive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for adults with complex mental health needs 
  • Lead the integration of therapeutic models across community mental health services 
  • Provide clinical education, supervision, and training to psychologists, multidisciplinary clinicians and students 
  • Contribute to research, quality improvement and service development initiatives 
  • Offer high-level clinical advice to senior leaders, supervisors and stakeholders

What You’ll Need 

Mandatory  

  • A degree in Psychology  
  • Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) 

Highly desirable  

  • Post-registration training in therapies such as DBT, TF-CBT, EMDR or Somatic Experiencing
