Are you a passionate Psychologist looking to make a meaningful impact in child and youth mental health?
We’re seeking a dedicated Psychologist to join our Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Charters Towers. This is an opportunity to deliver expert assessment, intervention, and case management to young people with complex mental health needs, while developing your expertise within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
About the Opportunity
In this role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention to children and young people experiencing serious mental health concerns
- Provide case management and care coordination, working closely with families, carers, and service providers
- Participate in intake and crisis assessment services across the lifespan
- Contribute to the delivery of services aligned with national and state mental health frameworks and models of care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuity of care and outcome monitoring
- Engage in quality improvement, evaluation activities, and ongoing professional development
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to create a therapeutic, recovery-oriented environment that promotes the dignity and wellbeing of consumers and carers.

Townsville Hospital and Health Service is the largest tertiary referral service in northern Australia, delivering integrated, recovery-focused care across hospital and community settings. As a teaching and research organisation affiliated with James Cook University, we offer strong opportunities for collaboration, learning, and career development.

What You’ll Need
- A four-year degree in Psychology (or equivalent qualification)
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
Desirable:
- Eligibility for or willingness to obtain Authorised Mental Health Practitioner AMHP) status under the Mental Health Act 2016
