About the Department / Program 

Monash Children’s Cancer Centre (MCCC) provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care to children and young people diagnosed with a wide range of oncological and serious haematological conditions across inpatient, outpatient and long-term follow-up settings.

About the Role 

Join our team as a Grade 3 Neuropsychologist on a fixed term part-time role (multiple positions available) to work at Monash Children’s Hospital based at Clayton.  In this role, you will:

• Deliver advanced paediatric neuropsychological assessment across the cancer care continuum, including baseline, post-treatment and longitudinal follow-up

• Provide clear, timely neuropsychological reports and feedback to families, clinicians, schools and external agencies

• Develop and implement evidence-based, individualised interventions addressing cognition, learning, behaviour, fatigue and emotional wellbeing associated with cancer and caner related treatments

• Support school re-entry, family engagement, discharge planning and referral to ongoing neuropsychological supports including NDIS and disability inclusion, as appropriate

• Engage in research

• Contribute to specialist consultation, supervision, education, and service development activities

You will be guided under the leadership of Monash Health Psychology, Medical Director of the MCCC, Nurse Unit Manager MCC and will create strong relationships with the broader MCCC Allied Health team. 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes: 

Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships,  

• Experience in or a strong interest in pursuing a career in paediatric oncology and  haematology or experience working with young people with serious health/medical conditions and diagnoses  

• You hold endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology and have a minimum 5 years' experience working as a registered psychologist at Grade 2 level (or equivalent)

• You are a board approved supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia or would be eligible to undergo the appropriate training within 6 months of commencing the role

• You are a collaborative team player who values partnership, shared expertise and working closely within a multidisciplinary team
