You have the
exciting opportunity to be a part of a newly established service in Queensland
- the Perinatal Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home (PAMH-HITH). Deliver
high quality evidenced based perinatal mental health psychology clinical
services to consumers, carers/supporters and infants as part of a high
functioning acute mental health multi-disciplinary team.

Acute Mental Health Hospital in the Home (PAMH-HITH)
The Perinatal
Acute Mental Health Hospital in The Home program (PAMH-HITH) is a virtual bed
admission program designed to deliver time-limited, intensive
multi-disciplinary treatment for women and birthing people experiencing
moderate to severe perinatal mental illness during pregnancy or within the
first 12 months following birth. Consumers received
hospital-equivalent care in their home environment rather than within a
traditional inpatient unit or Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) in order to receive
intensive care whilst remaining with their infant/s, their family and
cultural environment, and connected to community and social supports.
Your key
accountabilities
- Deliver high level psychology services, including
assessment, evidence-informed perinatal menial health interventions, and
education in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical
standards.
- Undertake high level psychology duties relevant to
your assigned caseload with minimal need for direct supervision and
provide psychology consultancy and advice (within delegations) to other
staff members within your team and across the Mental Health and AOD
Service.
- Provide high level skills and experience in
providing quality leadership, clinical advice and education to
staff (including psychologists, psychology students, allied health,
nursing and medical) to enhance their knowledge regarding psychological
clinical practice and services in perinatal mental health.
- Actively participate and provide
leadership in professional and multidisciplinary team meetings, including
clinical case conferences, departmental and Hospital and Health Service
meetings.
- Provide high level clinical advice and direction to
the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and AOD Service, the psychology
team, other relevant stakeholders (including
medical, nursing and allied health), professional and
operational supervisors and non-government
organisations regarding professional psychology standards and
psychology service development and improvement.
