Salary: $79,592 - $154,889 p.a. + superannuation, annual leave loading and flex leave

As part of the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), you'll play a key role in delivering trauma-informed therapeutic care to vulnerable children, young people, families, and carers, supporting them to navigate the impacts of trauma, loss, and placement transitions.  

As part of the Psychological and Specialist Services team, you will work to deliver psychological assessment, therapeutic interventions and other professional services to DCJ client groups including children, young people, families and carers.

You’ll have the opportunity to grow and learn, drawing on the expertise of a multidisciplinary team and the knowledge and support of the broader Psychological and Specialist Services team.

In this rewarding position, you will:
 
  • Work in an evidenced-based trauma service being trained, supervised and supported by clinical supervisors who are experts in the field.
  • Make a real difference working with a highly vulnerable children and families who are motivated and committed to positive change.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Psychology recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia, with either: 
    • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia, or
    • Provisional registration with an ability to fulfil full registration within the relevant timeframes. 
  • Experience: Clinical experience working with and knowledge of therapeutic frameworks for child abuse, neglect and trauma. Prior experience working with children and adolescents is preferred. Or Knowledge of therapeutic frameworks for child abuse, neglect, and trauma.
  • Driver’s Licence: willingness to travel as required.
